Challenge Weekly have tons of info about Parachute 2012 it in their latest newspaper, including a bit to say about what Mercy Ships NZ and I are up to there – have a read below (and see you at Parachute!)

Ever since I was a boy I’ve loved to sing – in fact my mother used to go crazy with me singing so loud all the time she would tell me to be quiet … but I guess that didn’t work!

Ken McKay commented on my website “Playing and writing passionately is what you do…take hold and spread it all around”. I wrote “Hope on My Horizon” for Mercy Ships to help pay for surgeries onboard the Mercy Ship for some of Africa’s most vulnerable children and I thought “… I wonder if anyone else loves singing and wants to come and record “Hope on My Horizon” with me?” [sic: I didn't think of my mother ]

Maybe that’s you or maybe you know someone? If getting the chance to record a song that will help the forgotten poor isn’t enough of a “win”, some partners from across the globe have pitched in with prizes for the challenge just to make it more interesting! $2,300 worth of prizes in fact!

I’ve gotta say a huge thanks to Cari Cole, Groove 3, Print Mighty, Bob Baker, Thomann and others as they’re helping some of Africa’s suffering children through this song with Mercy Ships NZ – they’re legends.

As Ken said let’s “spread it around” – how about singing with me to help the poor win (and maybe you’ll win to?)!
